A new study from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) has conclusively concluded that … organic wines taste better!

In this research, the data was provided by three prestigious wine magazines, WineAdvocate (Robert Parker), WineEnthusiast y WineSpectator. In total, the scores and tasting notes of 74,148 Californian wines that were initially evaluated in blind tastings were reviewed. After the analysis, it was found that the wines with organic certification obtained an average of 4.1 points above the regular wines that appear in the lists.

The researchers also consider that the results can be applied to the different varieties of wine in the world, in fact, in a preliminary study in which French wines have been analyzed, the results obtained have been very similar.

 

Another study done in February 2021 by Drinks Business, in which 128,000 French wines were analyzed, clearly concluded that organic wines scored 6.2% higher. The study was based on the reviews of renowned wine guides such as BettaneDesseauve, Gilbert Gaillard and Gault Millau.

Therefore, everything seems to indicate that vino ecológico, under similar conditions, tastes better than other wines. 🙂
